Tips to reduce your energy bills this winter
Making sure your home is well prepared for the colder months ahead can make a big difference to the comfort of your home, as well as helping to keep the costs of your energy bills down and reduce energy…
We take the health and wellbeing of all our customers seriously and have pulled together some practical advice and tips you can refer to, to help keep you safe during this time of uncertainty. This information has been collated from Government and Gas Safe websites to help keep you and your customers safe and help to minimise the transmission of COVID-19.
What processes should Installers and engineers be following?
• Before visiting a home or business, you should ask whether anyone is self-isolating or has been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19. If this is the case, you should not work there unless it is to remedy a direct risk to the safety of the household and you are comfortable and willing to do so. In these instances you can contact the Government for more advice.
• Social distancing and recommended government safety measures, should be observed at all times
• Wherever possible, you should encourage your customer to stay in a different room to where you are working and you should always maintain a two-metre distance from others at all times too
• When at a customer’s home or business we recommend you wear gloves
• You should wash your hands frequently and wipe down all surfaces you may touch in your customer’s home. Where this is not possible, you should keep a hand sanitiser to hand and use regularly. More information on hygiene and cleaning practises can be found here
• To minimise any form of direct contact, do not pass customers hand held devices or other paperwork for signature
• Consider taking your own drinks and flasks rather than accepting a drink or food from your customer, as the virus can remain on surfaces
• No work should be carried out by any installer or engineer who is showing coronavirus symptoms, however mild. If you are concerned about your own health please use the online NHS 111 service and follow Government guidance
• More useful COVID-19 advice and guidance can be found on the Gas Safe website and on the Government website
• Remember, everyone is instructed to comply with the rules issued by the government in relation to coronavirus to protect both themselves and others
We have all seen the impact when customers are anxious about the availability of goods, though we are not doing any site visits at the moment, if you have a lead we will call the customer and complete the first part of the process and arrange the site survey when safe to do so.
We want to thank you for your dedication during this period. It is thanks to you, the country’s essential workers, that the public are able to stay safe in their home and vital businesses can continue to function.
At times like this, working together means we can all get through this and we wanted to thank you for your continued support.
Please keep safe and stay healthy.
